A Cozy Hidden Gem Inside Paddock Mall
Today’s adventure took us wandering through the new market at the Paddock Mall, when we stumbled across the absolute cutest little hangout tucked into a corner. It’s called Moody’s Brewing, and it honestly feels like a cozy hidden gem someone dropped inside the mall, and it landed too perfectly to move. The whole place has this warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to sit down, stay awhile, and pretend you don’t have ten other errands to run. It has the most wonderful aroma of coffee and sweets!
The Little Churro That Caught Our Attention
They’ve got this adorable little air dancer out front that waves you toward the entrance, and you can even see it reflecting in the window in this picture. It’s kind of like a silly little churro trying its best to get your attention.
Fun fact about churros: they’re named after the Churra sheep in Spain! There, they’re traditionally served with a cup of nice thick, rich hot chocolate. Most of the time in the morning, and sometimes as a hangover cure!
Friendly Faces and Coffee History
Inside, the staff were super friendly, really attentive, and genuinely helpful. You can tell they really care about making it a fun and relaxing place to hang out! There is this really cool antique coffee machine sitting right behind the little bar area, and it is absolutely something to admire while you sip. It looks like the kind of machine that has seen a lot of happy, caffeinated mornings.
Did you know goats helped lead people to coffee around the 9th century? According to legend, goat herders noticed their goats eating the coffee plant and acting full of energy, so they decided to try it for themselves. East African tribes later ground coffee beans and mixed them with animal fat to eat as an energy source. People did not begin brewing coffee the way we know it today until around the 15th century. Oh, and coffee is actually a fruit!
Coffee, Beer, and Food Worth Coming Back For
Their beer selection is great, their coffee is honestly some of the most delicious I’ve ever tasted, and the food is downright mouth-watering. Breakfast food is my absolute favorite, and I’m already plotting my next visit so I can order more. I’m dying to try more of the menu and see what other tasty surprises they have!
A Lounge Made for Relaxing
The lounge area is amazing. It’s super comfy, and the decorations make the whole place feel warm and welcoming. I could just curl up there for hours! It’s very aesthetically pleasing as well, so if you love a good vibe, this place delivers! They have a really neat chess table with custom pieces that look like they each have their own little personalities. Plus, some cool antique coffee pots on the shelves that add to the charm!
Bring Your Favorite People and Stay Awhile
There is a ton of seating! Bring your friends, your family, that one buddy who always orders the weirdest drink on the menu. Come hang out at one of the coolest spots we have found right here in Ocala!
